Buy this I assume you mean more often then not Nylon Cut Pile.

If so you can use a CRB such as the Sprint to encap if it is ligtly soiled.

If you need to flush with Hot Water Extraction (Rick sells Stemin Deamons) you can still use a CRB to agitate pre-spray before extraction and again to work in protector.

I don't OP (currently) so I am not much help there.

In order to cover more basis and be able to offer more I would suggest the Vento, for encaping you can purchase Fiber Plus and Fiber Max pads on the Vento and for OP you can of course use pads. Just my suggestion.

You would be much better off if you studied the boards for a while and decided which method suits you best. But to answer your question yes you can use the cimex in "domestic" cleaning but it really shines on commercial.
Jeff hit it on the head the vento is a much better choice for the smaller residential/commercial type cleaning.

Vento!

I own one and love it. I do not do much commercial (yet) but even when I do, I use a synthetic pad for speed.

Your question was about residential, the Vento rocks in that setting. Period.

I have a Vento and it is my choice for residential carpet cleaning. Very smooth and it does not feel like it is bringing the house down. A very nice well built machine.
