"Properly Maintained CGD Carpet Will Last......"January 7 2008 at 1:45 PM | Derek |
| i'm not talking about weekly or monthly CC'ing. i am talking about the more typical: quarterly CC'ing of all halls and lobby, and semiannual CC'ing of all offices, cubes and conference rooms.
let's say the jan/san staff does there typical once or twice per week vacuuming.
**EDIT** how long might a CGD commercial carpet last under those circumstances?
25 years?
30 years?
longer?
thanx --- Derek.

Too many varibles. Type of carpet. What kind of office?
We do know that a properly maintained carpet will last twice as long as an improperly maintained carpet but 25/30 years is unheard of. Most major office complexes with re-decorate their office facility every 10 to 15 years and that would include carpet replacement. Carpet tile will outlast rolled goods by several years if some rotation of tiles in heavy traffic lanes is done periodically. So to many varibles to come up with a definitive number. If you are looking at using this info as a sales tool, it can be beneficial if you can calculate all the other related costs that are part of carpet replacement.
relocating employees
tear down of office furniture
all wiring computer--telephone
tear out of old carpet
and than going through same prccedure
to get employees back at their workstations.
If you work this out and than do your selling job and you produce the results you sell, your service will not cost the facility people one red cent, when you show them how much your service will save them just by doubling the life of their carpet investment. This is money I am sure they could use for other projects and they love that. Try it the next time you do a presentation and you will get a very interesting response as no one has ever done such a thing in a quote for carpet maintenance before! |

Tony, They do mention Host and Whittaker as approved for C&A Powerbond and the other 3 systems will void the warranty, in their maintenance program. I maintain some here and use the Steamin Demon. Interesting read that you posted. |

I have painted concrete in my International Corporate head office and all I have to use is a mop. |

We just have 2x8 wood floor in International Coporate Offices, we could not afford concrete, we just use a leaf blower to clean it. |
