Jeff, I did get your emails man. I have been swamped with stupid stuff not pertaining to CC. I mean to thak you and Rick and everyone for the help regarding the hospital issue. Thanks!
Here's the long story: (Grab a Joe)
I joined up with a guy in Illinois who owns and operates 4 major window cleaning routes. I went up there several months ago to train his crew on rope access for high-rise window cleaning (my forte'). We hit it off great and both saw potential in the other for areas each was missing to reach certain goals. Voila'.
The salesman for his company moved down here to Florida and hit the streets about 3 weeks ago. he (salesman) knew little about carpet cleaning. I took some time to educate him somewhat....he is more learned about window cleaning. Along the way, he started getting asked about CC (resty's, Doctrs offices etc)he soon learned there is a real need for VLM cc methods.
Most (like bowling alleys etc) simply wanted a "demo" enter...me. But the hospital wanted/needed something a bit more specific. I really did not and still don't know, exactly, what that "something" is. So, I came here and asked, got what i got, and took a swing.
Turns out they are presenting whatever info we give, to the board. These are the engineers (they wear funny hats) who use "data" I guess to make calls about what will...and will not....suit their needs.
I am almost positive i did not have that. BUT...we did give a price for the hi-rise window cleaning NO ONE else can even touch. so..we are in the door there and the CC is on hold until I learn more about the specifics they need. There are the things that other, more experienced guys here, have already done. i was in hopes I would have found THAT info.
Until then, I will slip in through the back door...give a demo...and move on. The thing is though...these "guys" make the call for ALL of their properties nation wide.
I'll keep everyone posted. |

Not much has changed since I was on the other end (letting the contracts) These "guys" need to draw up the specs, but do not know how and need your imput. As a CCer, I have had to draw up the specs so I could bid the contract more than once. That is fine with me as I would do that any day of the week. These "guys" are lazy and do not want their superiors to find out that they just don't know. You may need someone to go in with you (until you get more experience) to present a plan (in writing) for maintaining the carpet in their building(s)and gain their confidence that you can help them by working with them and let them get the credit. |
