How Fast, How Much?

Charles, your actual mileage may vary. At a modest rate of .12 per sq ft, and a middle of the road average of 2500 sq ft per hour, it is very doable to earn $600 in 2 hours with a Cimex machine.

2500 sq ft with a Cimex I must be doing something wrong, no way in our commercial maintenance contracts do we even come close to 2500 sq ft an hour. Once in a blue moon when we have big open areas we come close, and even than it would require a second man to be your gopher for water etc. Best we can do and this is the number I use when quoting jobs is 1500 sq ft an hour, still much better than a portable HME machine which we need to use in alot of commercial work for many reasons that eliminate using a TM.

1500 to 2500

My personal experience w/19" Cimex on commercial carpet runs between 2000 and 2500 on open areas if all the conditions are right, in all other areas it is closer to 1500 per hour, so I agree with Don. In the old wanding days, we would average about 750 sq. ft. while wearing ourselves out.

Don and Ray,
Sometime when your down this way, stop by and see me. I'd be happy to show you how to hustle with a Cimex and knock out an average of 2500 sq ft per hour.
This ad compares two methods of cleaning - HWE and Encap. We’re watching as two cleaning methods are talking to each other about their accomplishments cleaning commercial carpet. That's all that's being considered; the ad is not interviewing the vacuum cleaner or the furniture mover, we're only hearing each method tell us what they're capable of. And I truly feel that these are fair real-world numbers, because I've personally achieved these kinds of cleaning rates on a regular basis with the Cimex.
They were bragging in the video how much money they made so I thought I would brag too! There was only 1 room of plastic tables and chairs which filled about 1,000 sq ft of the 1,600 sq ft of the room. I think we did good on time since my wife and I do the work. She did the vacuuming and I did all the rest including setting up my buckets of hot water. No cimex was used on this job.

My favorite account is one that I do quarterly. All 12 foot wide hallways that total 16,000 sq. ft.on 3 floors. In and out with the Mex in 6 hours for a grand total of $1,450.00. Wish I had 10 more accounts like that.

Don't bother proving to veteran cleaners like Ray and Don that it can be done. Use your time more wisely and train new ones like myself how to hustle with a cimex......When can i get started?
Thanks

I'm very happy doing 1500/hour with Cimex.
So far I have not had a reason or desire to go faster.

for the record, running with a Cimex like yore tring to qualify for olmpics doesn't give the pads enought time to pass over each other correctly.
1500-2k sf is plenty fast. don't think yore doing it wrong if those are your #'s!!!
PS i started using a Cimex in 1994 if that helps!

I did a school admin block last week. 83 chairs and 4500 sq ft of carpet.
All encapped. Cimex for carpets and my sander unit for the upholstery. I had the groundsman assisting me for about 1/4 of the time moving a few bits and pieces during the carpet stage.
I did that in 6.5 hours.
This school has an 'in house' cleaning unit and they do all areas them selves but can't get keep the admin block looking any good. I was contacted to see 'if you can make it look better'. It started out with all the hallways, once they saw the results, they added all the rest of the offices. Then they asked if I could do a few chairs that are quite stained. They were a heavy wool weave and they came up sparkling, so they kept adding chairs and I ended up doing 83 of them
I had travelled out of town for this job and was expecting a cruisy half day, once they started adding this work, I really had to pull my finger out and go for it to get through this 'bottomless' pit of work flow.
They have assured me that I will be back for a few other problem areas next term break.

Hallways, 2k +

I do hallways for a Holiday Inn, about 7650SF We usually do in 3.5 hrs. We charge .10/SF. These halls are pretty gross too...very busy hotel. We get to do them about 4x a year. Not bad! Cimex & Releasit, Fiber Plus pads, with some concentrate for the spots!
I still like my PC though...

We did two retail lingerie stores 2900 & 5400 s/f. I takes 1 hour to do the 1st & 2 1/2 hrs. to do the second. In another facility it would take us 3 hrs to do 8000 s/f using 15" & 19" Cimexes. If the carpet is not very soiled & you can take one pass, you can easily clean at 2500+ per hour.

As many of you know I have an Aero Tech. The Cimex is the most profitable piece of equipment I own. It has given me a much higher return on my investment than any truckmount I have ever owned.
I have an Aero Tech and owned 2 Vortex's, 2 Butlers, 1 Prochem, 1 White Magic, 1 Steam Action and the Cimex makes me more money per hour than any of them ever did.
