| is such a hassle. Checked out flights from Tampa to Montgomery and the only way to get there is via
Houston
Charlotte
Philadephia or
Washington DC
What a hole that place must be. Checked flights from Orlando, same thing - 7hrs in a plane and $100 more than going to Atlanta which has flights every hour.
Sorry Marty, seeing your limp wrists in action, in person is just not worth that much hassle.
No wonder you don't fly anywhere, no flights that go anywhere from Montgomery - to bad - would have been nice to share some pecan pie with you.

C'mon Tony it's just a boat ride up the river. Just listen for the banjos.

Tony, you could fly into Atlanta, have an extended lay over (no extra charge from airline) rented a car, drove to Prattvile (about 2 hrs or less) returned to Atl. and then on home. Only extra charge would be the 1 day car rental. |

Bad idea - like he'd ever let his wife see how handsome, debonair and sophisticated gentlemen behave. As they say ignorance is bliss.
Thanks for the suggestion, Ray but is he really strange and bizarre enough of a phenomena to justify a 4 hour drive?
I can see driving 4 hrs to see a prehistoric village, a Neanderthal hut, a stone wall, civil war site, museum or even a fossil but Marty ????
Can I risk such an emotionally damaging experience?
You know he'd abuse my naturally sensitive nature.

I sent a couple of guys down to Anniston last month for a drying school, when they returned I asked them what it (Alabama) was like.
They shook their heads and laughed. I asked "what?" They said it was awful!
I laughed and said I had a friend who lived a few hours from there and they said "tell him to move!".
Marty...MOVE!!!!

Joe's place, I guess it's his kids business now (?), is in a pretty run down part of Anniston. Not a very good place to visit. However, just up the road a ways is some pretty nice scenery.

You mean one of those crab apple trees with
cobwebs all over it ??
Marty's idea of a beach resort is a trailer park in the port of Mobile.

Trouble is, too many damned Yankee's moved to the south. Funny how they complain about how we 'treat em" then, they up and move down and spoil the scenery.
Alabama being my home state...I understand why Marty is so slow to explain to "outsiders" how easy the good stuff is to find. |
