Cimex 15" versus 19"

February 5 2008 at 11:37 PM

Hello,

Just wondering what Cimex users think of the 15" versus the 19". I am looking to buy one, but not sure which one. The 19" sounds great, but is the 15" just as good, but lighter and easier to carry around?

I would like to use the Cimex for the residential work, but still, I want it to perform well for commercial jobs.

Thanks for your help.

I have been told by some 15 inch users that the little Mex is pretty weak. Don't know from personal experience because I have only used the 19 inch.

Owning both

February 6 2008, 10:04 AM

I have owned a 15" cimex and feel for comm work it is to smalll to get the job done, so I sold the 15" wish I didnt now though due to most of my work being resi.

It was a pain to cut the pads down to size.

For resi work I would buy one in a heart beat. Get it with the soft brushes. Oh and dont think for a sec its any lighter then the 19". You better have a ramp.

I have both. I had the 15" machine for ten years before getting the 19" machine, however, I worked for another cleaner before going on my own and he had a 19" that was used for both commercial and residential.

The 15" machine is about 20lbs lighter than the 19', hence, easier to maneuver. I used both machines in commercial and residential settings. Just yesterday we cleaned 900 s/f in a 4 bedroom home with much furniture, and, later in the evening did 2500 s/f in an assisted living facility, including one of the apartments, using the 19" machine. You can get the soft brushes for either machine. Frankly, I haven't noticed a difference in the final results.

It is sort of a drag to cut pads for the 15", but, ce la vie.
