Beige pads for commercial carpet

February 9 2008 at 10:46 PM
Dave Rampage

I didn't order the grey pads in time so I had to use the beige pads on my commercial jobs last night. They did a better job. I couldn't believe it. I never used the beige pads on commercial before. I was worried they wouldnt do as good of a job. I know it doesnt make sense but they really did better.

Dave,
I think the fiber plus pads do better also, I feel that its a softer pad and can get down in the carpet fibers better than the fiber max pads.Thats on my guess, but I still keep a case of fiber max on the truck just in case. Scott

Dave,

I've found the beige pads do awesome on most commercial carpet.

I only use the grey pads on first time nasty jobs, greasy restaurants and some car dealerships. I also find the grey pads do better when cleaning behind a "hey, I'm gonna clean carpets and use the bonnet method" type of "cleaner".

I agree with Kevin and Scott - imagine that !!

A few years ago Mikey was mocking low moisture, not sure about Dave but now here we have two giants of HWE with giant truck mounts adding low moisture units to their arsenals. This industry sure has changed in the last few years.

I wonder when CRI will catch up?

VLM Fest in Macon, Ga.

February 10 2008, 8:29 PM

Tony, I agree. I can remember the year that Clayton Delaney died, but I can't remember the year that we had the first VLM Fest in Macon, Ga. and I was the only one that came with a truckmount. I do remember Rick Gelanis and Nancy, Lonnie McDonald, Jeff Brown and Mark Stanley as a few of the attendees. My how things have changed, we used to do dual wanding, now we do dual padding and on some jobs, tripple padding. How Sweet it is!

Tony,

I would not do low moisture in residential but I have been using my Cimex since 2004. I don't remember Mike mocking this method. I would also not say I am a giant in HWE. I am only a 1 truck company.

Dave, I know that - this thread is about commercial cleaning.

Giant is a figure of speech that does not always simply refer to dollars or revenue. I too, like many others had our doubts about vlm and have come to appreciate it for what it adds to our toolbox.

The times they are a changing.... thats all.
Who knows I may do sales work in my sweats one day
Take care.

My therapist won't see me anymore. Mumbled something about "issues being too complex" or something like that.

Can you believe that??

Geez.
