Uneven floors...

February 12 2008 at 1:31 AM
Matt

I have done several jobs where the floor underneath is uneven, and the Mex just wont reach those little troughs. Tonite I did a restaurant and it looked horrible when I was done...the concrete underneath must have miniature frost heaves or something, but the floor looks like a cheetah, clean spots and dark spots.

Any one experience this and have success at fixn the problem? I Mex'd and followed up w the SD.

Personally I would of done it the other way around. HWE extract it first to get the grease and crap out, then go over it with the Cimex. When I have had the light and dark area's I have followed up with a bonnet on a rotary or O.P. machine and it came out looking great. Also let it dry and see how it looks.

Seems to me if it was that uneven brushes would work beter then pads. What did you use on it?

Lol. Im hear for answers, not a social life. Laugh if you would like, but I did use the pads, mostly cause I didnt have my brushes, which I figured wouldnt have provided enough agitation, being the soft ones.

Here is what I did (usually do): Used the mex with gray pads to lay down HOT Punch at 12z/gal. dwell about 10 min then extract with demon. Followed up with bonnets on the mex to dry it up and extract a little more. Im going to call the owner soon to see if it does look better than last night.

Thanks for the helpful info, I am looking into getting the stiffer brushes, mostly to cut down on pad usage, but now as suggested also for the uneven floors!

Would scrubbing and post padding in both North to South and East to West directions would help in these situations? Would the time and effort be worth it?
