Has anyone tried the square units like orbetic has. Do they work the same? Would that not answer the problem of getting up to the edge and into the corners?

Yes, I've tried them both. While there is a guy in California that calls himself the Teri-Towel Man who seems to successfully use the square Orbitec machine, it was not what I was looking for. Personally, I prefer the round OP machine like the Orbitec Defender, or their CX-20.

By-the-way, my square towel machine is sitting in the corner in like new condition if you want it.
