is the IICRC course benifitial to us Cimex/Releasit types?

Ed

Just wondering your thoughts there is finaly a course being offered near me. The cost is $295 and $50 for the test.

1. Do we need one of these courses?
2. The instructor luckily is a member of the Low Moisture Club.. here is his info.
Mr. Senter is an IICRC Senior Practicing Carpet Inspector, Mater Textile Cleaner and has both Master Restorers designations. He also teaches the IICRC Health and Safety Canada Class.
Mr. Senter is an active board member of the Floorcovering Institute of Ontario and the Low Moisture Carpet Cleaning Association.

My thoughts are positive on the Instructor, I would be less so if he was mister extractor head/steam cleaning dude, he sounds like he might like the Cimex and Releasit.
What are your learned thoughts on this?
(ps I was taught old school, by someone else, so it could be good, but the Cimex Releasit are such a good combo)
Thanks Ed

Lee Senter is a very good instructor and you will not be disappointed with his class. Oh ya he also owns a cimex and uses it alot in his commercial work.

Knowledge is a powerful thing!

Lee is a sharp guy. He knows and uses the system that you love, so you'll have something in common. Plus if you're asking, you must be up in Canada, so you're obviously in Lee's neck of the woods. I wouldn't hesitate to take the class. The more information that you have at your disposal, the more successful you can become.

In my opinion any time you have an oppertunity to learn you should do it. The IICRC has good instructors and good classes.
And you should be educated on all methods of carpet care.(IMO)

Lee is top shelf and owns at least 2 Cimex machines, 2 truck mounts, a few porty's and a few OP machines.

His class has very little hands on cleaning but that is not his fault.

There is nothing you can't use the Cimex/Releasit on....

Even top secret stuff I'll never talk about on the net ha-ha

I just took the course here in Baltimore, and although the instuctor was a hwe guy (and everyone but me was too!! and when we touched upon encap, people where asking ME about encap) I found all the info really, really benefical to being a "professional" carpet cleaner. So I would say yes , go.

By the way, I love that among 25 or so people in my class, I had a "unique" product. We are an untaped market guys, gotta love that!

But, if you go, please don't spread the word about encap cleaning. Before long, Rick is going to have every janitor in the country doing it, and I want to keep the market quite as long as I can.

Are we talking about those same janitorial guys that don't even know how to vacuum a carpet?

Lee is a great guy and you WILL learn plenty.

It is so sad - makes me feel all teary eyed thinking about poor Marty desperately struggling to stay ahead of the local janitors. It must just an awful feeling not to have anything else to fall back on.
