CMS ?

I was wrong. Dead wrong. But let me explain why:

I had seen the CD and put it in my computer....it was not too impressive. I failed to see the big hoopla.

Then, I read the requirements....turns out I only have Microsoft Works...not Office.

As a result....most of the meat would not even show up on my screen. I got lines and photos...some words here and there. The power point thing was just a frame or two....

So I suggest it to my business partner....he has office. BIG difference in what shows up! Holy Cow!

This system rocks!

apologies to Rick for my incorrect thinking.
Awesome system Rick...awesome!

Yep. You need MS Office (Windows or Mac).

Glad to hear that you like it! Now put it to work and GROW your commercial business.

Be sure to read the instruction page carefully, as it outlines what you need to do to effectively market to commercial accounts. If you can set aside one morning per week for commercial marketing, and really commit yourself to sticking to it, you can really grow a nice commercial client base. It's not difficult at all.

Wishing you success!

There is another full office suite out there, that will open almost any and all office files. The program is called OpenOffice (yup on word) the cost $0.

Open source
find it at openoffice.org

I also use Open Office. I have the full version and the CMS shows up just fine. I'd recommend trying the free download before dropping your $$ on office.

While Open Office is a good program it will not do all that MS Office will and there are some compatibility issues when sharing documents between people, or at least the last time a year or so ago I used it there was.

You can get legal copies or MS office for under $100 if you look.
I got my MS Office 2007 for $90 at one of our local computer shows.

Shop around

You can get a pro version of MS Office for a fair price, if you're willing to pick up a previous version. The CMS files are compatible with Office 97, 2000, 2003, or 2007. I don't personally care for Office 2007 - it's as much of a dog as Vista is.

I just did a quick search and found MS Office 2000 Pro for $115 on eBay...

The Pro version includes Powerpoint. Office 2000 and 2003 are both excellent! Even Office 97 was very good.

Shop around, you can find the software at a fair price.
