Cut pile 3/4' long

A light tan older nylon pile carpet. Has anyone successfully cimexed this high a pile carpet. Customer did not want to pay 25ยข sq ft for HWE. I can do it faster and thus cheaper with Releasit and Cimex, but I'm concern about what the pads might do to the high pile. Especially an old carpet.

Thanks,

Bill

That cut pile probably has not been cleaned in a good time is my guess and needs the factory twist re-set.  The only way to do that is with HOT- HWE.

Examine the tufts and see how good the set on the twist is.  Manipulate one with your hands and see if it untwists easily.  If it does I would personally only do HWE.  Otherwise have him sign a clearly spelled out waiver that the Cimex WILL NOT reset the heat twist and MAY cause it to undo.

Rick may have something else to say.

My other choice would be an encap only with a CRB, but that can often yield so-so results on mid to heavily soiled cut pile.

Thanks, Del. The twist is tight but the ends have noticeably "frayed." I think you're right. HWE may be my only choice.
