Protector with Encap?

April 17 2008 at 8:32 PM
Russ Branson

Hi all! I am somewhat new to the encapsulation world and was wondering if an addtional carpet protector is beneficial and/or necessary when cleaning with encap only? As I understand it, encap products act similarly to fabric protectors. If they are beneficial what brands are you guys using and like? I was told at a seminar about a year ago that Pro's Choice Stain Guardian was a good protector to use with encap. I like it for use with HWE but haven't tried it with encap only. BTW, I'm using an OP machine for the encapping (padcapping). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Russ

This info is from this site. This is what you need.

Advanced Fabric Shield and Protector
Why SOILEZE™ Carpet & Upholstery Protector Works So Well:

Most carpet and upholstery protectors are effective with either water or oil based soil, but not both. The advanced fluoro-chemical technology of Releasit® SOILEZE™ protector has exceptional oil, water, and alcohol repellency. As a result, carpet and upholstery treated with SOILEZE™ will exhibit outstanding soil resistance and stain releasing properties.

SOILEZE™ Carpet & Upholstery Protector is compatible with the entire Releasit® product line. SOILEZE™ will impart soil and stain resistance that is as good as or better than the original mill applied protection. SOILEZE™ incorporates sophisticated fluoro-chemistry designed to impart unprecedented protection.

SOILEZE™ protector also meets all VOC regulations. Safe for stain-resist and synthetic carpet and upholstery fiber.

Compatible WITH RELEASIT® BRAND PRODUCTS

Joe-

Just got my CX-20 from Clark @ Orbitec and it came with a case of his Snap-Encap but also have access to Releasit and some Vac-Away products. Most of my experience with encap thus for has been with a Cimex and Releasit. I got an OP machine so that I could remove some soil from the really filthy areas. I would like to use the Snap-Encap if possible unless it is complete junk. I did some test areas in my house and it seemed to do alright. Like I said, I'm fairly new to this.

Thanks,

Russ

I tried Vac-Away once side by side with releasit punch and IMHO no better. The only reason i did was because some guys were praising it like it was the Bomb. Haven't tried Snap-Encap but i doubt it's gonna do any better either. So I'll stick with ricks juice...err...punch. Works great!

I am not putting down Vac-Away it's a good product but not good enough for me to switch.

There's Soileze in all of our detergents. The Soileze in our cleaning agents imparts 4 benefits:

1) It helps the encap polymer to release more easily.
2) It lowers surface tension, making it possible for the detergent to do its job more efficiently.
3) It helps to retard the wicking process.
4) It adds a measure of soil-resistance.

In addition to the benefits of including a built-in protector, we also have Soileze as a stand alone product. Soileze is a kick butt protector and it is compatible with our detergents. There is a concern with some protectors as to whether or not they will mate up with an encap detergent. However with Soileze, you can spray it down following the cleaning with any Releasit detergent. You'll be adding a full measure of protection and it won't adversely affect the encap process. So when you have a customer that wishes to have a "protector" application, Soileze is an ideal product to use, since it works right along with our encap products and its protection capabilities are excellent too.

I don't know how many protectors I have used over the years, but Soileze is as good as any of them and I like the ease of use. When we use Releasit we always use Soileze because of the compatability (is that a word?)

Would you suggest using soil-eze after a HWE cleaning?

Soileze can be applied following any cleaning method, the same way you'd apply Scotchgard or other brand of protector. Soileze is a nice product, I think you'll like the results!
