drill speed

Hi

I am trying out encap on furniture and intend on useing a brush on a drill . What is the best speed to use ?

I don't know. I never thought about it before. I just got a corded drill and went to town on full speed. Never had a problem. It sure is faster than cleaning upholstery with the TM.

With the 3 speed Makita set up I was told that the lowest speed 600 RPM was preferred, it seems to work good there

Try using a variable speed drill. That way you can adjust the speed to suit the job. Too fast and you get moisture spinning off, too slow and you don't agitate enough. Its a bit of trial and error.

I've also found that it pays to have a Makita polisher or something similar with a few different 8" pads/bonnets for different fabrics. The 8" Tuway Thin One Bonnet is my favourite, but I had to revert to the drill brush attachment for a lounge this week as the material was ribbed and the bonnet didn't do the job.
