worried about tip blooming...

Joe DeSouza

I have a low boy that I love using on commercial & on residential trashed carpeting. I tried it once with some gladiator pads I was given on a nice, moderately dirty cut pile carpet, but it got a little frizzy...enough to scare me a bit...would the tuways thin ones be better? I have some but reluctant to try on a decent carpet...or are there other pads that would be better?

BTW, what is the proper amount of water to soak the pads? should they be wrung out, or dripping wet b4 putting on the op?

Thanks!

Joe

The fuzz you speak of scared the bejesus out of me too. Until I found out it was filler fiber. I found that when in doubt put a glider down and try first,As far as wetness I have found that moisture level is about the same as washing machine spin dry maybe alittle damper try that seems to work Glad pads rule

Yep the Tuway's are less destructive! They're the "one size fits all" bonnet. They cover a wide range of conditions and deliver good results. Especially with an encap product like Encap-Punch, the Tuway's make a lot sense.

Another alternative is Microfiber. Microfiber is PERFECT for more delicate stuff.

Filler Fiber???

I see the term filler fiber from time to time. It seems to be a term promoted by a supplier of OP machines. Are they referring to staple fibers?

Wool is made from staple fiber. Staple fibers are also used in cheap carpet as they make the carpet look fuller than it is. They do tend to shed more.

Whatever it is, it sure doesn't look good when a customer comes through and sees so much fiber coming out of her carpet. A Tuway will help as will using a rotary.
