any carpet that "can't "May 11 2008 at 12:51 PM | Bill Youmans |
| hi everybody,
Is there any carpet the "can't" or "should'nt" be cleaned using cimex (with pads) and relisit?
The reason I ask is I'm about to do a rest. and the carpeting almost looks like wool (it's not) it kind of looks like a fuzzy sweater look to it (thats how it looked new, it's about 2 yrs old). Not overly concerned, but it's the first of this type I come across, just like to know what your thoughts are.
Thanks as always

You can't clean that carpet with a Cimex.
But you can probably hide the soil with it just fine.

Lubrication is the key. I would also use the beige pads. |

In all honesty, not to many restaurants can be cleaned with a cimex only. Most we clean require HWE with the hottest water possible, and a good degreaser. We sometimes pre scrub with a cimex followed by HWE. |

It should work just fine using the Cimex. We clean a local chain of Italian restaurants with the Cimex and Releasit. The thing we have noticed is that we use more juice than just cleaning an office building. The grease tends to make the Releasit not as foamy and so we find ourselves going slower thus using more juice. We have been cleaning these restaurants for about 3 years now. We clean them every three months and we have never had to HWE them. The amazing thing is how easy they are to clean now. It is proof to us that the Soileze in the Releasit is an excellent product.

Would prespraying with Punch(choose the dilution) followed with scrubbing with Cimex equipped with the "thin one" bonnets & DS be a prudent choice for this surface so to reduce "abrasion" concerns with this surface? Would there also be some absorption with the bonnets that might be beneficial? Or could a combination of bonnet and pad be used? Perhaps 1 pad with 2 bonnets or 2 pads with 1 bonnet?
While on this subject has anyone had 8" cotton (2 ply) bonnets/pads made by Argo and used them on the Cimex? If so, how do they work? Is the drag an issue with circuit, etc.? Is durability a problem as far as cotton pad longevity when used on a Cimex?
Another question, if one used "thin one" bonnets on the Cimex, would Punch be the only chemical needed and eliminate the DS? I've thought that for situations like this the Punch was more of a "pretreatment" for heavy soil and grease then following with DS in the tank for additional cleaning/crystallization. My bucket heater gets a workout on greasy/foodservice areas in additon.
Thanks for your thoughts, info, and discussion.
