Piddle removal

What would happen if you sprayed an enzyme cleaner over a small spot (size of a small plate), let it sit, blotted up as much as possible, then ran over it for about 10 mins with an iCapsol using DS?

I guess I'll find out tomorrow, but just wondering...

If it is the size of a small plate on the surface, that is a fair amount of urine.  But the real deal is that if it is that size on the surface it is likely 2 - 3 times that size in the pad and/or sub floor.

It MAY work, but I would not bet on it.  Urine decontamination really needs Enzymes, HWE, and a water claw.

I agree with Del. It needs HWE to do the job right. The Enzyme needs to be flushed/removed from the carpet.

I agree with the above a Urine spot that size requires a decontamination.
But you can do it with out a TM or porty. I have both but I was not feeling well one day and needed to do a Urine clean up for a regular customer. I took this shop vac http://www.ridgid.com/Tools/4-Gallon-Vac/EN/index.htm it has to be one like this as the hose fits on the inside of the water claw most shop vac hoses are to big. Flush with lots of water 2 gallons at least (empty the shop vac often or you'll be blowing foam all over the place). Then follow the instructions on your enzyme treatment. Charge accordingly and explain you might have to come back and touch up because of wicking.

I have a Craftsmen Shop Vac almost identical to that one.

Smaller hose size though, so claw won't workee I guess.

At MINIMUM I would bonnet the heck out of that CGD until you got absolutely no transfer.

The shop vac idea is a really good low cost idea, with other potential equipment uses.  Not the highest professional choice, but hey I have been there- "Ya gotta do, whatcha gotta do!"

You could also try a spotting machine with a spot claw too.  Here is mine and I have used it that way- just gotta dump fairly often...

I agree with above posts.
If you ever get a chance to see how much contamination gets to the backing of a carpet you'd be amazed. A baseball size spot on the surface is a 2 foot size stain on the back and padding.
