3/4" loop

June 16 2008 at 4:22 PM
Alex

I did an inspection this morning on a loop constructed fiber, stretched carpet. The carpet hasn't been cleaned in a year says client. It was HWE. I saw a huge stain 6" x 18" Dark colored with the outer rim black. while digging in fibers with my fingers checking the backing, i ask what is this? She said vomit. I snatched my hand back and looked at her.

She said its ok it was a long time ago. I thought O'BOY! More problems? So I asked how did you address it? She mentioned dish liquid. Also tried some over the counter spotter. I thought "oh no"! So i went home and water-tested the fiber and found it to be Olefin. Olefin and vomit, not sure how that mix.

So i did a search on this board and found a thread on vomit
and followed the recommendation by my confidant "THE DEMO KING". So I ordered some bac-out. I will apply it, scrub it in, leave while cleaning other areas. I will come back treat it like any other stain (scrub vigorously), rinse, then encap.

I will then let you all know the results. My first VOMIT job.

Thanks
