Orbot or Cimex

Brad

Looking to get another unit.

I'm torn I don't know if I should go with another Cimex or with the Orbot.

On Res I think it would be the bomb. On com I'm wondering how the Orbot will compair with the Cimex with a FP pad. Faster, slower as good of a job?

I do about 80/20 com to res

Any insight would be great.

Thanks

Both machines are awesome. If you are primarily commercial (and it sounds like you are), then the Cimex is hard to beat.

However the Orbot is perfect for running in pure encap mode using a FiberPlus pad. And when you run bonnets/pads on the Orbot, you'll have an excellent machine that can absorb soil.

The Orbot opens up more opportunities since it crosses over between pure ancap and bonnet cleaning. The Orbot is a good choice for some of your residential too. And the 17" version is ideal for tighter areas.

It just comes down to what you're looking for. If you're looking for hard core commercial scrubbing, the Cimex can't be beaten. And if you want a more rounded out alternative, the Orbot is a killer machine that you won't regret owning.

I know I'm not making your decision any easier. Sorry. But there's a lot of overlap between the two machines. The Cimex will have a slight edge for heavy duty commercial cleaning. And the Orbot will slip into categories that aren't practical for the Cimex.

It all comes down to what fits your individual business needs/style. Either machine would make an excellent addition to your arsenal that you'll be pleased to own.

I think what Rick was trying to say is, "Why not get them BOTH? Still cheaper than a truckmount!"

Thanks for making my decision no easier then before.

I have to say with the Orbot you have a great looking space age looking machine that would help in marketing your self, which is one reason I am leaning toward it. That and it looks like my 14 16 and 18 year olds would be up to speed with it quick

In my humble opinion. It is a no Brainer. Speed up and get better results on 80% of your work and get the Cimex. Then with all the extra work you can handle and the happier customers, You can then get the Orbot to make the other 20% of your customers happier. The Cimex will pay for itself and the Orbot, faster then the Orbot will pay for itself. Once again this is my humble opinion.

I have to agree with Joel. You are doing 4:1 commercial over residential. Cimex rules commercial. Very simple.

My Opinion: the CIMEX...why I say that is because we did a 17,000' job 2 weeks ago, I had my cimex, and my oreck low boy which I had modified with wheels and a 60 psi spray head - very much like the orbot in a sense...the cimex ROCKED, while the low boy was a lot slower and didnt clean as well. That being said, the orbot is WAY better than a low boy, but I still think the cimex is king.

I am so confused...my head hurts.

I'm with Del

We do a lot of restoration cleaning for our largest customer and it would be nice to be able to throw a bonnet down when needed. I don't think the tuways under the the cimex work so well

Thanks for all the responses.
