Three best gum removers I have tried

Pine spotter by Hard Ball Chemicals it just melts the stuff

Attack by Cross American takes a little longer but no smell

GooGone works well but stinks to no end even when I mix something in.

P.O.G. cleaners work well also

Simple gum removal (simple is good)

I have cleaned mounds of gum through the years of cleaning commercial carpet.

What we've found works best is a simple 2 step process. First we use a chewing gum freeze spray (available from any janitorial supply house). Then we follow up with a solvent spotter (citrus gel solvents work well).

1. Freeze the gum and chip off the surface with a blunt scraper.

2. Apply a small drop of a good solvent to the spot and smear it with the scraper to loosen any sticky residue that's penetrated down lower in the fiber. If you use a lot of solvent you can blot it up with a towel.

After that simple 2 step process (takes about 30 seconds) you can then encap right over the spot with Releasit (rinsing isn't required). Works splendidly

We've always done as Rick states; we've removed seemingly millions of pieces of gum from 30+ Blockbuster Videos we used to service every 6 weeks.

A great source for freezing spray is Hesco. Usually about 3 bucks a can, if my memory is correct.
