Rick - a "Green" Question...

June 29 2008 at 10:01 AM

I read a few industry mags to get a feel of what's going on in the commercial world (i.e. Building operating management, Building service management, etc.) One thing that is prevelant throughout is the whole Green issue. One low-moisture cleaning co. claims that it's "SmartCare" system meets the requirements for USGBC-LEED EB...Do any of releasit's chems meet the requirements for LEED, or will they in the future? I'm guessing it probably costs a lot of money to get certified; my question basically is I'm just wondering if we can claim our cleaning is "Green Clean" without having some certification that is familiar to facility managers...

Thanks!

Joe

The largest green certification board is little more than a money making entity. For example, one of the "certified" products that I saw on their website contains BUTYL. How green is that??? In other words it's a farce.

Now onto the question of the environment. That is the real question you're asking isn't it? The Releasit encap method has got to be one of the most environmentally responsible cleaning methods out there.

~ Encap-Clean contains no hazardous ingredients.
~ Encap-Clean has a very low VOC level.
~ Very little water is consumed with Encap-Clean.
~ Zero waste water is produced with Encap-Clean.
~ No gasoline is burned during cleaning (via truck-mount).
~ No carbon is produced during cleaning (via truck-mount).
~ Safe for the cleaner, the building's occupants, and the environment!

To that end, here is a website that you can direct your clients to. It highlights the environmentally responsible position of Releasit. Check it out...

Good stuff, Rick...I will definitely point them to your website if the "Green" issue ever comes up. I like that you listed the green benefits of encapclean in this post...I'm going to make up a seperate page in my presentation and actually use these pointers to show them that we ARE green cleaners - I actually missed out on one job already because they didnt think that our cleaning was green - I might revisit them and show them this info and website.

- Thanks!

Joe
