In their function, they both work in the same manner. They each oscillate on the carpet at 1725 rpm's. That's 1725 small oscillations (about the size of a dime) every minute.

Beyond the basics, the Orbot is uniquely different. It has the folding handle. It has the onboard spray system, with the removable jugs. It has the rear wheels that remain on the ground so there's absolutely no side to side torque. It has a more ergonomic handle. It has the ability to easily switch between a 17" and 20" size. So it offers a lot of features that make it a better choice for SERIOUS OP cleaning.

HOS makes GREAT stuff! So either machine represents an excellent value.

I fully agree with Rick, I have the Hos it rocks and does a great job, I have a newused Orbot coming soooon. I hear they rock!
