VCT and CIMEX

Can you buff a vct floor with a cimex? If so, what kind of pads do I need and chemical.

There are a lot of filthy stores and showrooms in my small town that it looks like nobody is taking care of.

You can do a buff with a tuway pad however if your looking for a burnished high speed buff it won't provide that.

You can use a Cimex to scrub a VCT floor - using the FiberPlus Max pads...

You can use a Cimex to strip a VCT floor - using the Lightning Strip pads...

But a Cimex will not BURNISH a floor. To create a wet look shine with today's modern high-speed finishes you are going to need an ultra-high speed buffer. If you are planning on an electric machine, you should only consider a 1500 rpm machine (1,000 rpm's is to slow, and 2000 rpm will blow way too many circuit breakers).

We carry the Koblenz 1500 rpm UHS buffers because they're built rock solid, they work great, and they're very reasonably priced...

If I can help you in any way let me know!

Hey rick!!!

Rick I have an opportunity to start cleaning 5 stores with vct tiles. Clean once a week and strip strip and wax once a year. I am wondering what products and machine you recommend and I also have my cimex. If I could just use my cimex it would be great. I would like to also use the machine to do residential carpets. O ya I dont want to spend a lot of money. thanks

You can use your Cimex to scrub/clean the floor with the Max pads. And the Cimex can strip floors phenomenally well with the Lightning strip pads.

You'll also need a wet vac to suck up the dirty water and the stripper slurry. This is the wet vac I recommend.. http://www.excellent-supply.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=26&idproduct=263

For burnishing (high-speed buffing) you'll also need a high speed buffer. Here is an inexpensive model that will work extremely well for you... http://www.excellent-supply.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=25&idproduct=260

BTW I have personally owned and used two of those Koblenz buffers in our cleaning business. They rock!

You'll need to strip the floor and get a good base of floor finish. Then you can simply clean and buff the floor on a regular basis. Occasionally you'll need to scrub the floor and apply another coat of finish. The high-speed buffer is the tool in this equation that packs the biggest punch. It makes it easy for you to maintain a wet look shine in a simple manner, without requiring lots of recoating.
