Carpet Cleaners and VCT

July 16 2008 at 11:19 AM
Ken

I have been servicing VCT for 16 years.
I do a lot of new VCT after intall, renos, construction etc...

I'm warning you, it is not as easy as it looks and sure as hell is not as easy as cleaning carpet

Is it rocket science? no. But if/when you mess up a job it will cost you a lot of money and time to fix it

I agree with the wise men above!!!

Floor care is hard work and the pay is terrible (compared to carpet cleaning).

It's no walk in the park!

The only reason for including carpet cleaning (if you're a commercial carpet cleaner) is to avoid letting another contractor come in and steal your account. If you say no to the floor care, they will have to call in a competitor. And that competitor may start eyeing your lovely carpets. And we don't want that to happen do we? So my advice is to include basic floor care with your carpet cleaning. Or an alternative would be to possibly sub-contract out your floor jobs to a competitor that you can trust.

If not doing VCT causes me to lose an account, then so be it. I will never try that crap again.
