dirty, nasty liquor store carpetJuly 22 2008 at 2:32 PM | Bill Youmans |
| whats up all,
going to clean (or try to) a really dirty nasty liquor store carpet on wed. night. Its a friend of mine, and although he just wants me to "see what I can do", I look at it like a challenge. (This is the 2nd time I've done this carpet, first time I used Releasit and cimex/beige pads.) This time around I'm going to presray with either
something in the 11 ph range or citrussolv followed by extracting with steamin demon, followed by releasit and cimex.
What would you think I should prespray with to get the most out of the extraction (you know the nasty type of carpet I'm talking about, where the muck is so thick it looks like a smooth layer across the top).
Thanks for any input

Can you encap RIGHT AFTER extraction when the carpet is still wet? I never thought that was possible because there would be too much moisture in the carpeting from HWE...

You could use the Punch as a pre spray as well as a rinse aid. But it would have the best results if the carpet was dry prior to going over with the Cimex and DS. |

You can encap after extraction especially if you used Punch before you extracted. The little moisture left behind after extracting with not make much of a difference. If you are worried it will then just bump up the dilution ratio to make up the difference.
My process would be to scrub in the prespray with a CBM or used beige pads with hot hot solution then extract with the Demon, followed up with DS. This would not be an inexpensive job unless they were also loading me van up with some nice products along with cash payment

Personally, I like to scrub it with the Cimex / Releasit combo first then clean with HWE.
We cleaned about 400 sf in a vacant office that had been a transmission rebuilding warehouse. It was real nasty. We put the Cimex/Releasit on it first then went behind that with plain water and rinsed the carpet using HWE, then presprayed with Olefin prespray and HWE again, then one last time with the Cimex / Releasit combo and when we were done it looked brand new. Sounds like a lot of steps I know but it took less than an hour with two people from the time we drove up til we were paid and drove away.
So try some version of that.

If I were to do a Cimex/Releasit first, then Steamin Demon extract, wouldn't I need to worry about wicking?
Is that the reason why the last step should be Cimex/Releasit?
Or what if you finished off with OP after the Steamin Demon?

I just finished off with the Cimex/Releasit combo because it made a small difference in the appearance.
