A cool bike company in St. Pete

Hey Rick, you may remember I like to ride bicycles like you. I remember that you have a newer Colnago. My carbon Giant TCR3 got cracked and so did my collar bone in 2006. Well I have been riding my old diamond frame Trek 1400 and my hands tingle and feet. It is mostly from the past 12 years of carpet cleaning.
I have been looking at a recumbent called the Corsa made by Bacchetta. They are located right there in St. Pete. I used to think recumbents were for older folks but these things are fast and comfortable. I test rode one last weekend and can't get it out of my head. The one I am looking at only weights 22.5 pounds. Pretty low for a 'bent'.
Have you heard of Bacchetta? Know anyone that rides one?

Tony,

I'm sorry, I haven't paid attention to Bacchetta. I'm not up with recumbents. But there are a few on the roads around here so they are fairly popular. I'm actually on an Orbea with Columbus tubing and a mix of Campagnolo Record/Chorus parts. I love riding, and so does Nancy.

I just took a look at their website, and it looks like the Corsa you're looking at is is a sweet ride. http://www.bacchettabikes.com/recumbents/bikes/corsa-ss.htm

BTW, watching the TDF has been great again this year. If you come to St Pete for a Bacchetta let me know. And I'l have to look them up, I didn't even know they were in my backyard.

Happy cycling!

I was cheerin Cadel on from the start! I wish he could have one it instead of Sastre.

Three things went wrong for Cadel. First, Cadel let Sastre gain a minute and a half lead on him, assuming he could make it up in the time trial. Second, Sastre rode an uncharacteristically FAST time trial. And third, if Cadel was on a decent team he would have been wearing yellow in Paris. Silence Lotto gave him no support. What Evans did, he did on his own! That Aussie showed amazing style and was a pleasure to watch.

I'm sure Australia's proud of Cadel's second 2nd-place TDF finish! Plus the fact that he wore yellow for a couple of stages this year too. Cadel is a strong rider!

It was a fun tour to watch. But I'm honestly relieved that it's over. I can't handle that much TV viewing (even with fast-forwarding the Tivo). Till next year.

Cheers!
