19" Fiber Plus on Orbot 21" Driver?

August 5 2008 at 3:09 PM

Anyone tried this yet?

Are the pads too small to run on the 21" driver?

Also, is the Orbot able to run smoothly with these bigger fiber plus pads on?

Thanks.

We've got 21" FiberPlus pads on order for the Orbot.
They should be here within the next couple of weeks.

Thanks Rick!

As for my other question, will the Orbot run fine with the 21" fiber plus pad on and not strain the motor?

Thanks.

May not strain the motor, but will certainly put some strain on the carpet. Big difference between a Cimex with fiber plus pads and a OP machine with a 21 inch fiber plus pad, and we wonder why mills will not endorse this method of cleaning.

Don do you think a 20 inch pad used by a rotary or a OP machine will do more damage to carpeting ?

Not a fan of either, but the 175 Rotary would be a better choice

On "COMMERCIAL" Loop Carpet there will be no problem whatsoever using 21" FP pads on the Orbot. No problem for the machine, and no problem for the carpet. However I would suggest that you exercise caution if you want to try using it on cut pile carpet.

I use a 17" roto with ff pads in comm loop, no prob at all.

Would not use on cut pile.

FiberPlus Pads

August 6 2008, 6:24 PM

FiberPlus pads on a Rotary Machine:
Not a problem on commercial carpets.
Exercise caution on residential carpets.

FiberPlus pads on a Cimex Machine:
Not a problem on commercial carpets.
Exercise caution on residential carpets.

FiberPlus pads on an OP Machine:
Not a problem on commercial loop carpet.
Exercise caution on commercial cut pile.
And avoid using FiberPlus pads on residential (Berber is OK with care).

Okay, I think I got it. Thanks for the clarification.

So it sounds like the motion of the OP is the most dangerous of the 3 machines if not used properly.

Yes, an OP is the most aggressive of the 3 types of scrubbers.
