How many of you change carbon brushes on vacuums?

I have a whole bunch of equipment that have vacuums in them and I've never changed the carbon brushes in any of them. I thought it was a tough thing to do. Turns out nothing could be simpler. The hardest part is getting the right part.

I even have a brush motor on the Windsor Wave that has carbon brushes as well. Those are getting a little short.

I was also told to blow compressed air to get rid of dust. Like cleaning carpet, dry soil removal is critical to prevent abrasion damage.

Once I started doing that on my equipment, I decided to blow air on my home theater amplifier and computer. The computer had a crazy amount of dust that blew out. That is more to prevent overheating from dust accumulation.

I don't have an air compressor, so I just used a shop vac that can be used as a blower.

So do you guys change out carbon brushes or do you figure that when the brush is gone, the motor is to go any?

Either this is a boring subject or most people don't change carbon brushes.

I was just excited because I learned something new.

I promise my next topic will be super-duper interesting.

Nice to know someone cares.

I just had a few days off before I was starting a big job, so I had some time to make sure all of my equipment was in tip-top shape.
