Need quoting help...

August 5 2008 at 9:32 PM

Joe DeSouza

company looking to have their CGD carpets cleaned - 3,500 square feet; mostly open areas, but there are 6 offices and some cubicles included in that sqfootage...I was thinking maybe 15 cents / foot, but I dont know if that's in the ballpark...I dont want to go too high, but I know the last guy cleaned it w/ HWE, and i'm guessing that had to be in the .17 - .20 range.

I'm asking because usually when I encap i'm charging .08 - .10, but the sqftage is much higher so i'm not familiar with quoting this mid-sized size job!

Thanks for your help

Joe

That is a fair, moderately lowish price. Which works for this economy.
I'm sure you can secure the account at that rate and make 'em happy too.

Win Win

Normally I'd try to get them to pre-vacuum for us, and we'd only provide additional vacuming in the high traffic areas (at no extra charge). But if you need to pre-vacuum the entire carpet, I would add .2-.4 more per sq ft.

For a second there I was going to start a vacuuming only business.

Pricing

August 8 2008, 8:42 PM

I just came in from doing 4300 sq ft of office carpets priced at .15 for $645.00 for 3 hours/3 men.
One pile-lifed
One Cimexed
One truckmounted the edges with a wand.
This formula works great for me as we did this over many times at various jobs.
Sorry to say that just a Cimex does not do the job, because the edges need to be extracted.
Behind doors and under desks is where the Cimex cannot reach to satisfaction.
A portable extractor will also work when a truckmount will not reach.
Just my take on this.
