Shorty

I have also posted this on Mikey's Board but I'm a masochist.

Hi all, I've been working on a new web site, (WORK STILL IN PROGRESS), and would appreciate any comments, including good, bad and outright stupid for those that know me

http://www.get.shorty.com.au/

Feel free to rip me/it, to pieces

(WORK STILL IN PROGRESS)

I have big shoulders and can take it

(WORK STILL IN PROGRESS)

I will be posting more photos and deleting some text as I feel should be.

I will also be adding more content after Connections.

Ooroo

Shorty.

PS ::: I appreciate all the feed back, both good and bad & stoopid , it gives me a better perspective of the sensitivities of the person posting

PPS ::: NO pig comments please.

I've seen the light, and changed my wicked ways.

You show me yours and I'll show you mine.......

Shorty, looks good so far. It is not easy building a good web site. We are changing ours and up grading monthly. We like pictures. Animals play well, with the customers (85% of our residential customers have pets)that's our dog Lincoln at the top of the page and customers are starting to ask about him. Pictures of yourself and Delia would be helpful IMHO. We are getting a greater percentage of business from the web now and it is increasing monthly. We have a lot to do to make ours better (moodyscarpetcare.com) let me know what you think. I like all the headings on your site and the qualifications are impressive too.

Shorty it looks good.

Are you having a professional web person do it for you?

Like Ray said - it's tough to build a good site!

Ain't no perfeshhinuls down under

August 16 2008, 3:05 AM

Hi Rick,
Col Foster that did my original site, set up the basics for me and showed me how to edit and post.

I have been trying to make a go of it from there.

It cost me about AU$300.00 to buy the program and it is hosted by my internet server.

It is put out by Adobe and called Contribute.

Once the basics were in place, I would simply open any page I wanted to edit, type in my message or put in any images, then click publish, and wallah, it was there for all the world to grimace at

As I say, it is a long way from being perfect FOR ME, I will have more content to go in, plus more personal images down the track.

I want to use all my own photos, this will start happening soon, and will continue after I return from Connections.

I also intend to add links to sites such as excellentsupply.com etc; as well as video clips for people to see how the actual work is carried out.

Big plans for a little short old fat bloke who is fairly computer illiterate.

Of which, Col, my pc mentor, continually asks if I still have the box the pc came in ???

Why would he ask that ?? He won't tell me, just laughs every time I ask !!!

PS ::: It's now Satdy arvo & I've finished work, so now I can check out Rambo's site with a cold beer

New website

Shorty:

Nice site:
Very clean, good photos, enough white
space between paragraphs.
A good combination of colors.

Also, I could find with one click
all your services.

I spidered your site to see your code
and META tags. Maybe you can optimize each page
for only one Keyword. Always the first.

For example:
Your page "leather services" may be
optimized in the title tag and also
in the Keyword tag. (Put first "leather services" in the Tag)
Also beware for putting to much keywords. Maximum 3 separated
with commas. (The search engines penalized that)

Hope this helps

Thank you

Thank you Jorge.

I'm not very computer literate, so I don't understand some of what you said.

But my mate Col Foster will, and I'm sure he'll take your comments on board.

Thanks again,

Shorty.
