Bring a shovel. Will your Demon fit in the hallway? Clean & treat as an animal mess. |

The Steamin Demon will work just fine.
A spoon will work too After all, you're going to need to recover the feces from the surface somehow, before you start extracting.
After you remove the surface poop, flush it like crazy!!!
Use a disinfectant.
If you don't have access to a disinfectant, you could pick up a bottle of isopropyl alcohol and a bottle of Tea Tree oil from the drug store. Extract the area first. Now mix 1/2 ounce of Tea Tree in a pint bottle of alcohol. Work a generous amount of the alcohol and Tea Tree mixture into the affected area (go deep). Let it dwell for about 10 minutes. Then extract it again. That will sanitize the affected area. It's simple and effective.

I've done a few of these, usually its not as bad as you think, and because of the embarresment factor, someone (usually the caregiver) probably already picked up the solids ahead of time...I usually spray an enzyme down on the spots and really give it a good dose, let it dwell while you set up your equipment...extract, and it should be ok - any stain left over usually will disappear with stain magic - something Rick just started carrying!
Rick, congrats on carrying a GREAT line of products - Pro's Choice!

Wheeeww!!! Sounds like fun. I have been called a few times for people that had their colostomy bag to break. Charge accordingly, remembering that you will also have to clean your equipment. |

I don't have a Demon. Can't you attach an upholstery attachment? If so can you not remove the upholseryy tool and attach a spot claw?
Make you own luck,

Maybe you could just borrow Rick's spoon that he uses. That way you will not have to mess up one of your spoons. |

Maybe Rick should sell spoons or have a "Community Loaner Spoon"

....is where the job was. About 30min. away from my home. So I was excited to be going. In my mind I was thinking high end, Referrals ect.ect. I get there and explained my 75.00 minimum and decontamination charge. The lady refused and said: "I was thinking more along the lines of $65.00.
Turns out this was a county operated place for the elderly.I would have loved to help but i would have had to go through too much just to do that. I had to park outside the complex, up the street, call from the gate to get in, up the elevator ect. ect. So i just passed along you guys sound advice and burned rubber out of there. Stopped in on a few other high rise condos offering free demos, setting up return visits.
Thanks

You drove 30 minutes to arrive and have her tell you that you are too expensive???!!! - Just some advice, whenever we get a call, and we find out over the phone that it's a small job, we ALWAYS tell them our minimum (which is $98 by the way) so there are no surprises...Alex, you HAVE to do this or you're gonna get shot down & dissapointed way too many times!!
I had my minimum at $60 for the 1st year until a good friend of mine told me to raise it up to $98 - I was afraid to, but you know what, it was the SINGLE best thing that I did for my residential business!! I never looked back. Even if it's one room, it's $98...Done a few of those, believe it or not!
Joe
Here's a good one, too...my commercial minimum is $150...I cleaned ONE, yes ONE hotel room with my OP machine, 2 bonnets and releasit for $150 - they didnt complain, they needed that one room done!!! Took me about 15 - 20 minutes to do it (now if I could do that all day that would be great!) BTW, I dont want to come across like i'm bragging - I just followed the advice of a carpet cleaning veteran and learned from him, this is the result. |
