Hey Grant,
It looks like the mytee sprayer's stability is pretty good cause of the big wheels gives it an incline forward. The Penquin, due to the heavy spray gun and metal handle and the hoses is all on the back makes it top heavy, causes it to tip over backwards due to the smaller wheels.

How do you deal with that?

Thanks

How to deal with the Penguin's balance

September 1 2008, 4:39 AM

Hi Alex, thank you for choosing the Penguin.
Yes it appears that the Penguin is top heavy especially when the tank has less than 3 gallons of solution in it.
We have found that the recoil hose works well and stretches far enough to spray a large area when the Penguin is facing the work area. That is so that the hose is pulling from the front so that the Penguin does not tip over.
We are addressing this issue on future models with larger wheels and or the hose connection at the front of the Penguin.
Making changes like these at this time is expensive for a small manufacturer. Larger more affluent companies can respond much quicker.
We will continue to make improvements.

Penguin

September 1 2008, 11:57 PM

HI there. I suppose I deal with it by just trying to keep at least a gallon of pre-spray in it. It has tipped a couple times, that just tells me to pour more in. When in the van I just keep the back resting against something so as not to tip. I consider this a very minor issue.

BTW I love the new hose and wheels you sent me Sal!

Tipping

Thanks grant, we are working on the tipping problem.
You should get great service out of the Penguin for years.
Please be sure to clean the lines so that there won't be any build of chemical especially in the pump.
Let me know if any major issues arise, as we will take care of it promptly. masterclnprd@gmail.com

Cleaning the lines

September 2 2008, 11:20 PM

Sal (or anyone),

How would you recommend cleaning the lines. Obviously I will not be able to do it every day just due to the sheer amount of work that takes, but every week or 2 or 3 I could do something to try to flush it out. Just pour in some hot water and spray it all out to flush? Or is there something I should put in?

I'm usually using encap chems so I suppose buildup problems in the pump may eventually be an issue.

Thanks.

Grant,

It is a good idea to flush it after using the machine. Chemical and mineral build-up will eventually deteriorate the performance otherwise. So as often as you are able, run some fresh HOT water through the system to try to keep things cleaned out.
