Help with 4000 sq. ft commercial bid!!!!

September 4 2008 at 10:11 AM
Anthony

I am bidding on my first commercial account using the Vento. I wanted to get some input on what to charge per sq. ft. The total square footage is 4000. It is a funeral home and I am located in Florida. Thanks

In Florida, an account like that would probably bid around .15 per sq ft. That'll put you at $600. So I would bid it at $587 (non-rounded numbers sell better than even numbers do). Hope ya get it

two commercial jobs

September 4 2008, 11:05 PM

I did two commercial jobs on labor day. One for 500 and the other for 585. They where both around 4200 t 4600 sqft. So i got around 13 to 14 per sqft. I used my cimex and it kicked butt. I want to know how to upload pictures to show how well it worked. The only thing is I got swirl marks on the carpet. why?

The swirl marks will not happen on all types of carpet but on some they will. You need to have a carpet broom on hand so that you can broom them out. It takes a little extra time and so remember to look for this next time bidding on one.

For the 4000 sf we would charge a minimum of .15 sf. Sometimes more depending on the amount of work involved. I am not sure with the vento, but the funeral homes we clean around here are easy because of the large open spaces. 4000 sf would take one cimex about an hour and a half to two hours. So $600 for two hours of work is great. Funeral homes are also a great place to mess with your employees, especially if they are just freaked out about being in a funeral home to begin with.
