I was forced by a customer to use Vacaways product on their carpet. I personally didn't like it and cwould not use it where there were a lot of people around as to me it has a strong chemical smell and I'm afraid someone will complain.
Also I don't think it does as good a job as Releasit the carpet just seems brighter to me and ENC (Vacaways product) says on the label not for wool
you have to order a different product for wool. Releasit says safe for wool, and it does a great job on wool. Some of my accvts will have a board room only with wool and it would be a pain to change stuff for one room when your doing a whole floor.
I haven't tried any of their newer products like Hot Knife ,etc.

Good company. Good products. And a good guy, Steve Smith.

Their products work well. Beats any product? I don't think so. That's simply marketing.

Although they make some good stuff, we're happy to put Releasit up against any encap product on the market. As a matter of fact, we put our money where our mouth is. At Connections in Florida we had a printed offer to that effect. Here's a pdf of that offer... http://www.excellent-supply.com/releasit-$20.pdf

"Compare Releasit
with your encap detergent.
Try a sample of Releasit. Compare it with any encap product you like. If you don't agree that Releasit "blows away" the competition - we'll send you a check for $20 just for trying our product."

Download the PDF file for all the details...
http://www.excellent-supply.com/releasit-$20.pdf

P.S. It's a large file, so give it a moment to download.

Vacaway has some great products, such as Cyclone and Hel-Gel.

We had to quit using Hot Knife, however, due to complaints about the odor. Encap Punch works just as well without the smell.

Vacaway is for pad cleaning, not Cimex.
just my humble opinion when I tested about 5 cases of various products from vacaway.

We use Releasit DS/Punch for all our encap cleaning, but Vacaway makes a full line of excellent spotters. Red Vanish is just about the best red dye remover on the market!

I compared Hot Knife with Punch. Punch worked better.
Some who used to be on this board a lot and other boards suddenly were pushing Vacaway's products as the bomb. So I bought the sample pack. (SEVERAL MONTH'S AGO)
Padded two sections of CGD SIDE BY SIDE. Hot Knife on one Punch on the other. Guess which one worked better..... I'm still here.
In all fairness I haven't tried their spot removers or their other products. After that one test I was done.
Encap Spot has removed red wine from nylon on several occasions for me along with some other difficult spill stains.

I tried their Hell Gel and their one part red out spotter. I was told that they would be amazing. They worked no better than the Prochem spotters I was using. They're OK, but not "the bomb" that some make them out to be.

The Releasit spotter is still the best for encap commercial carpet spotting.

"The bomb"? That's funny ...

There are a bunch of good spotters on the market. Prochems are good. So are CTI's and others. The reason I like VacAways spotters, especially Hel-Gel is that they are crystal encapsulants. I like the idea that if I fail to rinse them properly they don't leave an undesirable residue.

We can argue "cleaning ability" all day long and get nowhere. It's a subjective thing.

We know that you would never "fail to rinse them properly".

Unless your age is starting to get to you.

Re: Can happen to anybody.

There's probably a couple of lurkers who may benefit from what I am about to post.

A few years back, I was cleaning a local school district office which had a bunch of paint drops all over thier upstairs carpets. I was able to remove them successfuly with Hel-Gel, but it tool a good while and a bunch of scrubbing. After finishing, I encap cleaned the areas with my GLS and a good encapsulation product. I can't remember which product it was.

The next day, I got a call from them complaining of white spots on the carpets. I went and looked, of course, and found the spots to be in the areas of the paint spots I'd removed. I took the toe of my shoe and dug a bit at the spots and they all brushed away. It was the powder residue of the Hel-Gel left in the carpet. I went and got my vacuum cleaner, vacuumed the area and that was it.

Can happen to anybody, but with most spotters a residue would have been left that wouldn't have shown up for weeks or months and only a full cleaning would have removed it.. With Hel-Gel, the problem immediately presented itself and was easily resolved.

What?
HelGel, Red Vanish, and Cyclone HWE are Steve's best spotters by far, that stuff can do amazing things.

Maybe on commercial Rick's juice is the Bomb, but for specialty spots don't hate on Steve, it's rock solid chemistry.

I don't clean anymore, and I still have 3/4 of a gallon of Cyclone HWE cause it's good stuff.

All you Releasit kids should have a VacAway spot kit on your truck.

That's a good story Marty.
I have one too. Black paint spots on a light colored Poly.
One of my customers(janitorial) decided to paint their office. All the door frames black. It's a 25,000 SQ.FT. office. Needless to say black paint everywhere. They called me and asked if there was anything I could do???????? Well I drove over there (and I carry on my van all types of spotters not just encap products.)
DCS,CITI,ETC. I thought about it on the way over and figured I'd give encap spot a shot.If it didn't work no big deal I have every other type of spotter on the van. Well first spot gone in a heart beat. Tryed a few others same deal. Gave them the bottle and put them to work. Residue?.... Nowhere. Rinsing?... No need to. Vacuumed the next night.

End of Story.

Marty just proved that he can be a nice and helpful guy when he feels like it.

Actually, I've always felt that his posts have some ring of truth to them. Just gotta get past the sarcasm.
