hi all, hope everyone is well!!!


we're going out of the country next week and i am wondering what to put on my office phone as a message, so i'd like your opinions please.

should i just say soemthing to the effect that:

1) "the office is closed 9-29 and will be re-opening on 10-7?"

or should i go into a little detail and say:

2) "we are going on a well needed vaca out of the country so the office will be closed from....blah blah blah"

i am leaning towards #2, but am hesitant as there are always some clients / prospects who will think, "they must be charging to much....blah blah." or some fool thing lol

Leave a message saying " the office will be closed for vacation" the dates, and that they may leave a message (in which you will return when you get back) or call back when the office re-opens. Your customer will understand.

How about transferring the Business line to your cell phone and and return calls once a day.

Put Hi this is _______ I am out of the office but will return your call as soon as I am able. Pick a time and return the calls even if it is the next business day for them.

You do not have to say anything but you are full up until X date. This makes you look more professional it also prevents people from going else where.

One more thing is does keeps your office safer you just don't know who is lurking about looking for an easy score
