| Good day Gents
there was a discussion about why the Orbot has such a big cord and how some would like a smaller cord. After using the machine for a bit I thought my experience with the Orbot might be helpful.
If you do not have enough power to run the Orbot the motors will not spin just hum, this has happened to me twice once with out an extension cord and once with one.
I have a extension cord that is almost have heavy as the Orbots
It failed on the same outlet as plugged into with out and failed, I wish I had my cord that is as heavy as the Orbot's with me to see it that would have helped. I will always use the heavier cord with the Orbot now just to see if it happens again.
BTW so far so good with the Orbot
I like how easy it is to change out pads. last night we did one of our resturants, it was nice to be able to run three different pads in a caked on greasy spot to make it go away quickly . Used beige pad then scrub bonnet then microfiber bonnet on the spots. This took a few minutes to do, we then encaped those areas at the end of the night with DS.
should have taken video of it but the pouring rain made me not want to get the video recorder out.
Naturally my son uses the Orbot and I get stuck with the rotary for now.

Dave,
can you explain the diffence in the pads you used.
I thought the biege pad and the micro where the same. What was the scrub pad you used.
thanks,

Beige pads are like the fiber plus pads
I use BBC Bonnet and Brush pads for scrub bonnets
I get them from Hesco

For me, I decided to use a 12 gauge cord with the orbot if I am staying with 50 feet. So far, it hasn't been a problem. I just got tired of dragging the thick cord around. Plus, it seems to have a really tacky cover on the cord, so it seems to stick to wet carpet a little too much.
If I go beyond 50 feet, I will then plug the original orbot cord into the wall outlet, then the 12 gauge cord leading to the machine will plug into that. The extension cord closer to the wall outlet should have the thicker gauge, otherwise it will act as a bottleneck, and the thicker cord after it won't be able be used at it's full potential.
I'm no electrical expert, but it just seems logical. Correct me if I'm wrong. |

David,
I didn't think you would ever desire anything else over the amazing rotory machine.
Thanks

That's funny Alex.
I think David finally decided to try Green Eggs and Ham. |
