I don't get it?

October 7 2008 at 4:40 AM

Im not trying to be rude or anything but i don't get the point of Encap Basic. If im doing my math right. I generally get about 7-9000 Sf of carpet cleaned with a gallon of DS. which Cost's $.04 a sf. Why would i want to use a inferior product? Isnt it counter productive to save $10 a gallon to not get the job done as well or as lasting?

ENCAP-BASIC now sells for $14.75 per gallon.
Diluted 16:1, a gallon of concentrate can clean 5100 sq ft
Cleaning at an average rate of 300 sq ft per gallon -
Encap-Basic cleans at .0028 per sq ft
Just under 3/10ths of a cent per sq ft.

ENCAP-CLEAN DS now sells for $35 per gallon.
Diluted 32:1, a gallon of concentrate can clean 9900 sq ft
Cleaning at an average rate of 300 sq ft per gallon -
Encap-Clean DS cleans at .0035 per sq ft
Half a point over 3/10ths of a cent per sq ft.

Encap-Basic is our cheapest product. And there are situations where that may be beneficial. Some jobs require the lowest cost factor. Some contractors simply can't afford a more expensive product. There are a number of factors that may dictate going for the lowest cost product.

On the other hand, Encap-Clean DS is a premium product with a slightly higher cost. As with most things in life, you get what you pay for. Encap-Clean DS is unmatched. There is not a better product on the market today. Many cleaners will opt for the better product, even at a slightly higher cost.

Yet there may be those situations where a lower priced alternative may be worth considering. And as the economy continues to get tougher, we wanted to have a more affordable offering. So Encap-Basic fills that niche. Is it the product for every encap cleaner? Certainly not. But we feel that it does have a place.

Look at it another way...

Encap-Basic at the LOWEST price on the market, even with slightly lower performance, will still perform better than 99% of the other encap products on the market.

It cleans great and crystallizes beautifully.

I look at it this way

Rick knows his market and I am sure has done the research to justify the cost of coming out with this new product (see how long testing Hydrox) While some product might not be right for many of us having the choice or several products is a great thing.

I'm going to get it!

I am going to try the new Encap-Basic. I will use it for residential for HWE. I'm sure it cleans otherwise it wouldn't be for sale. For $15 a gal. you can't beat the price.

Charles, thanks for your interest, however Encap-Basic is not for HWE. It is a shampoo type product, just like Encap-Clean. It's intended for the Cimex, rotary, etc (even some bonnet/OP).

Rick,

Would Encap-Basic be a good product for me to use in my rug cleaning operation.

Rick, I always use my buffer with solution tank to scrub carpet first. When HWE extracting you always use Clean Hot Water only. No solutions of any kind ever go thru my machine.
I owned a ServiceMaster Franchise when I first got into this business and learned how to clean and use equipment properly.

Carpet Cleaning For Dummies:

Cleaning carpet is like washing your hair. Shampoo hair and scrub in , (HWE) then rinse with clear warm water and at the end you have clean hair or carpet with no sticky residue.

Charles in that case Encap-Basic will work fine.

Kevin you might wanna try Encap-HydrOx for your wool rugs. It's on the acid side and is ideal for wool.
