I was pulling for those Rays of yours, since there is a lot of ex-Astros on the team, as coaches and even our old GM is with the Rays. I know you had a blast at the game, because it sure was exciting on TV.

Yes, the Astros are a great team.

But what about taking a team from dead last to the ALCS champs?

Gotta love an underdog!

I love seeing the "impossible" come to fruition!

There seems to be a recurring theme here...
Tampa Bay Bucs,
Tampa Bay Lightning,
and now the Tampa Bay Rays.

All those teams were on the bottom; and then they went all the way to the top.
More than a good baseball game, I love watching the "impossible" occur...
regardless of whether it happens in sports or in business

It kind of reminds of a few years back -
putting encapsulation up against the old
dyed in the wool HWE truck-mount industry.
Encap didn't stand a chance!

When I started promoting encap, everyone assumed
there's no way this crazy idea would ever catch on.

Well maybe they should have checked to see where the encapman was from,
before they arrived at that conclusion. LOL
Born in St Petersburg, land of the underdog champs.

Cool then! I am coming there before the Great Trib! Nothing better than an underdog coming out on top.

Rick You have done more to help the commercial carpet cleaner than anyone I have encountered in all my 38 years in the business. Keep up the great work, it is appreaciated.

Thank you Don!

That was quite an honor coming from a man who is one of the sharpest minds I know when it comes to carpet cleaning. Don was first introduced to me as the "Ed york" of Canada. Of course, Don's not quite as cantankerous as Ed was.

Rick,

I wouldn't exactly call the Astros a great team. On the other hand Tampa has a good chance to be good for a long time. They have so many young guys.

How great was it to see David Price come in as a rookie and pitch the way he did at the end of that game. He has only been in the big leagues for a little over a month.

Glad you got to go to the game and hopefully you can go to a World Series game or two.

I usually always root for the National League but not this year.

The concept of using David Price to seal the deal was incredible.

I think he had pitched like 8 major league games in his life,
prior to that championship game.

Yet Maddon saw his potential!
And he put the man to the task.
And Price delivered on those expectations.

There has to be a lesson here.

Perhaps it's, look for incredible things in unlikely places.
Or perhaps, see the potential of everyone on your team.
Or maybe, expect good things and people will try to measure up.

Whatever - it was an unbelievable performance from a rookie.
And it was a bold move from a wise and creative team manager.

I am glad Price pitched so well, as their bullpen did not.

I do hope the Rays win the series.

Go Rays!

On top of my carpet cleaning company I also own my local Valpak Franchise and their corporate headquarters in in Largo. Last year for our annual franchise convention Valpak treated all the dealers to a nice dinner on the field at Tropicana Field and some of the Rays players were there. Very cool to see. Tampa is lucky in that they will get to host a few World Series Games and the Super Bowl.
