Hydrox Compatibility

How well does the new hydrox mix with DS and Punch? Odorcide? Just curious.

Can I prespray with Hydrox then follow up with DS?

It can be used with Odorcide, but I wouldn't suggest using Encap-HydrOx with other detergents. Encap-HydrOx is not compatible with other polymeric detergents such as Encap-Clean DS or Encap-Punch. The peroxide in Encap-HydrOx will crash the crystallization in the other products. The polymer in Encap-HydrOx is a special polymer that is stable with hydrogen peroxide.

So what happens when 30 vol is added to DS and punch, does hurt its effectiveness or work at all?

Yep. Adding peroxide to any traditional polymer will damage the polymer.

Sorry about that, but I constantly see on the different Boards where people are mixing or adding products to another detergent and keep thinking one of these days someone is going to get into a mess and no supplier will stand behind him once you create a new detergent by doing this.

What about EncapSpot and Hydrox? I thought those two could work together for stain removal?

Why is it we are so intent on mixing different detergents to create a new time bomb to clean carpets with. If your present detergent is not cutting it find one that is properly formulated to do the job. The last thing you need is a problem after you have mixed two differnet detergents, because now you have a new product and I hope you have the capabilities to come up with a MSD Sheet for your new detergent

Thanks for the response, Rick.

Don - I don't mix detergents, just prespray with one and follow up with another. I was curious how well the crystallized together on the carpet, and what adverse effects there would be. It wouldn't make sense to have another MSDS sheet for that. Sorry if the question was read that way.

Boosting detergents is a different story...

That was a great topic and thread. Good to know!

It seems all those guys on Mikeys Board add h202 to just about everything...

Actually the seaoned board readers are cautious what they add peroxide to.

We sell so much of the O2 system these days, very few are adding anything to it.
