Well it's big news for us at least.

When I started Excellent Supply, there was a company doing business with the domain name ExcellentSupply.com They sold hardware or plumbing or something like that. So we registered Excellent-Supply.com instead (with a hyphen between the 2 words). Well I guess the company that was using ExcellentSupply.com domain went out of business, because the next thing I knew the domain name was being held for ransom by one of those domain name resale companies.

I looked into purchasing ExcellentSupply.com from the domain resale people, but they were greedy and wanted a few thousand dollars for it. Needless to say, I passed. While it would be cool to have the ExcellentSupply.com domain (without the hyphen), I really didn't need it that badly.

Well the other day I checked on the domain again and I saw that it was still for sale. However the price had been dropped to $2380. So I decided to call them. That was still kind of pricey so I made them a ridiculously low offer for the domain. They countered my offer. Long story short, I was able to purchase ExcellentSupply.com for $700. Yes! And while it may be true that $700 is a fairly hefty chunk of change to pay for a domain name, I am still very psyched to have gotten it for that price.

So drum roll please... you no longer need to include the dash when you go to our website. Now http://www.ExcellentSupply.com will take you directly to our website. NO HYPHEN REQUIRED! This will make it much easier for people to understand our web address. In the end, this will probably prove to be one of the best $700 investments I've ever made for our company.

So spread the news --- we are now http://www.ExcellentSupply.com



P.S. This also applies to our e-mail addresses. For example rick@excellentsupply.com (without the dash) will be directed to the correct e-mail account.

Rick that is great and all but you know I am really more concerned about decimal points rather than hyphens. Please work on moving the decimal point to the left on my next order. This would help more than removing the hyphen.

That reminds me Rick. When people ask how often to have their carpets cleaned our answer is every week. Only one time have I ever had a lady have a great come back to that. Without hesitation the lady said you have a deal if you wash my car also.
