Cimex Belt

November 12 2008 at 1:12 AM
Alex

I walked in my garage today and noticed something. My old belt hanging on a hook with the word "Direction" visable. With an arrow next to the word.

I immediately thought to myself: "I didn't pay attention to that when installing the new belt on my Cimex. I'm wondering if the belt is installed with the arrow on the belt pointing in the opposite direction of the planetary head's direction of turn, could that be the problem with my machine?

I changed the belt, the power cord, and still after 20 minutes of scrubbing the head sometimes stop turning. Now, since I changed the power cord rpm's been strong running. Took it to shop the guy pulled the plastic cover and smelled the motor and said "I don't smell anything so I'm not gonna charge you $75.00 to tell you your motor is good." (he's honest guy looking for repeat business)

I'm wondering if the belt is installed with the arrow on the belt pointing in the opposite direction of the planetary head's direction of turn, could that be the problem with my machine?

Thanks

Try reversing it and see if that improves things.

bi directional

My brain is kinda fried. LOL! It just dawned on me that the Cimex turns in both directions, so there is no correct direction to point the arrow on the belt. DUHH!

For me Derek, business is inching along. Thats why this is so frustrating cause I don't have many hours of use on the machine. I've had it going on two years. When I listen to guys like yourself make the statment you made about your Cimex, I then begin woddling around in self pity, "WHY ME"???
LOL! GOOD TO HEAR FROM YA!

Thanks
