Encap Clean/DS - Foam

November 19 2008 at 2:22 AM
Bill Martins

I have not used DS as of yet, just Encap Clean. Sometimes Encap Clean has foamed quite a bit while padcapping, i change pads even go to dry pad to absorb the foam/encap from the carpet, but have a bit of a hard time doing so. Even though i do understand it contains some Soileze, i'm afraid it might wick.

Any tips?

Bill

Bill-

Its very rare to see severe foaming with ReleaseIT DS you will see some white foam but not much unless you over apply. Could it be the customer either owns a carpet cleaning machine or had rented one? If so they probably over mixed chems or did not use defoamer. You can mix some defoamer in a sprayer for when that happens.

Use Encap-Punch for bonnet/pad cleaning. It has lower foam. Encap-Clean / encap-Clean DS are intended to create a light foam for Cimex style scrubbing. Whereas Encap-Punch is intended for use as a pre-spray, HWE, and bonnet/pad cleaning.

Note: When bonnet/pad cleaning foam (tiny bubbles) form a layer between your bonnet or pad and the carpet. That's not particularly advantageous. It is better to use a low foaming product (like Encap-Punch), since you don't want your pad/bonnet riding on top of a cushion of air. Instead you want your bonnet/pad to make direct contact with the carpet where it can extract/absorb the greatest amount of soil.

I thought punch was just for HWE, didnt know clean/ds was mostly for the cimex. Now i'll know what to order next time.

EC & EC-DS = same product just...

diff potency to save on shipping.

i see ppl that still might think 1 cleans better than the other. they are the same, DS is just doubly concentrated.

maybe it has 50% less water, i dunno, but it saves us $$$. cleans the same.

is that right Rick?

Encap-Clean DS is twice as concentrated as the original Encap-Clean, so it is extremely cost effective to work with. They are the same chemistry formula, they're just at different concentrations.

Encap-Punch is an entirely different animal. It is built on a pre-spray architecture, and it utilizes a different blend of surfactants and solvents. It crystallizes beautifully, it contains Soileze, and it has Tea Tree extract; yet aside from those similarities it is a uniquely different product.

As far as the Punch pre-spray and then DS through the Cimex- Yes they are compatible.  Hydrox (NEW) is the only product in them line that does not play well with the other detergents- it has a different polymer base to work with the peroxide.

As far as the dirty sock smell...try washing your socks????????????????????

What are you cleaning when you get this smell? Yes I have smelled that odor while cleaning. mostly it is realy filthy places I am cleaning. I assume it is coming from the carpet.

"on very dirty carpt I have been using encap punch as pre spray and using ds in my cimex. Is that ok."

That is a PERFECT application for Encap-Punch.

"Also I have been getting a dirty sock smell from my machine when i clean. I smelled the cimex chemical holder and it smells fine. Has anyone had this problem."

Joel nailed it. You are kicking up a musty smell from the carpet. I've also smelled some funky smells coming from some carpets as they're being cleaned. The smell is coming from the carpet, not your machine or chems. If it's seriously dank, you could add a few extra drops of Tea Tree oil to your detergent, or mix in some Odorcide.
