Hydrox is virtually idiot proof

I cleaned 4 wool area rugs and one sofa today. One of the wool rugs was super thick and white. The sofa was an off white type of material that was similar to one I cleaned with hwe a while back and it browned on me real bad.

I used Hydrox with my Orbot on the area rugs and Hydrox with Makita and fiber plus on the sofa. It was a real durable material (sofa) so I could use the fiber plus on it with no problem.

Everything came out looking nice and bright. The white sofa and rug especially were impressive. The customer said the last time she had them cleaned, it actually looked worse after. Probably browning related.

It was also an extremely humid day, so having low moisture was critical.

With Hydrox, you don't need to worry about browning, odor, or over-wetting. Makes me look a pro even though I hardly ever do upholstery or wool rugs.

I always hated cleaning whites before but with Hydrox, it's a pleasure.

Pads? Bonnet?

December 19 2008, 7:48 PM

T.O.,

What type of pads or bonnets did you use on the wool rugs?
I have a wool rug to clean (15x12)right around Christmas day. It'll be my first Wool if she don't postpone again.

I thought OP'ing would have been too agressive for the natural fiber.(wool)

Thanks

Hey Alex,

I used tuways. At first I put a glide under it, but then took it off because I felt it was just skimming the surface. It worked fine without the glide.

I finished off with using my Icapsol to really lift the pile and to dig out the loosened particles and fiber.

The Orbot with tuways seems more gentle on wool rugs than my cimex with soft brushes. The cimex would cause a tremendous amount of fiber to come off. Not as much with the Orbot and tuways. Never tried the Cimex with tuways.

But like I said, I'm relatively a newbie when it comes to wool rugs, but all went well thus far.
