| ......The Airport.
I will be bidding on this project and basically the lowest bidder wins the job. Nothing else is concidered. I printed out the bid documents 1" thick. WOW! I'm intimidated by that. I have 30 days to summitt the bid. Its gonna take me 30 days to read all that and understand what it all means.
Anyone doing Airports? The city seem pretty particular about what they want. For example: They ask for a price for,
carpet extraction, "Standard Time"
price....$_____/SQ.FT.
"Emergency from flooded building.
price.....$________/SQ.FT.
Do they bend any? Will they allow me to use my own method? Theres no way I'm HWE an airport. Maybe with a ride-on. lol
Bids for the city is trial and error for me as this is my first.
Any tips at all regards bidding the job or if I win, tips on doing the job such as what they look for?
Thanks
Your Servant Alex

Unless they list a specific form or cleaning system, list yours as Low Moisture also if you plan on going green I would list that as well also send a brochure of yours listing the benefits of low moisture.
For flood extraction thats a open ended quote I would be careful alot of variables also if your not certified and insured for flood extraction I would pass.
The good news about lots of paper work it tends to discourage many from bidding |

I used to do work at the Atlanta airport which is owned and controled by the City of Atlanta and Mayor Shirly Franklin. It is a political controled mess. Atlanta is the worlds busiest airport and carpet cleaning can only be done between 12 midnight and 5AM and passengers will still be walking on your just cleaned carpet. Insurance requirements are high, and now security clearences may be required. HWE is most likely required by the specs. Bane Clene built a HWE mounted on a trailer for in the airport use. Search their web site for more info. I would do a small airport, but no thanks to the big ones. WDR could be a real problem and one I would stay clear of. Danny Strickland does some airport work at the Talahassee Airport, you might check with him.
