The article did not tell some things
1. that the carpet and solutions that were tested, what date, and what kind
2. new or old carpet, and what type
3. what cleaning method (although less of a factor)
4. failed to address advances in all chemicals
5. failed to address innovative products like Encapsulation solutions
6. failed to mention, new procedures and safeties for newer carpets.
7. failed to use any other studies that have conclusively shown toxins and reactions to some of the nasties that are used, by some. There are hundreds of studies and yet they did not show one. So not a very good reporter.

All that taken in, this is something that I use as a selling feature for my business and my processes. Encap all the way, and it does not matter, extract, bonnet, pad or cimex.. encap.. is for me

Someone needs to challange these people

We had a local real estate lawyer that did a weekly radio show on preparing your house for sale. He constantly stated that removing the carpet and replacing with hardwood was not only a good move to increase the value of your home but was also a good move for the indoor environment. I could not take it so I stopped by his office and asked him for any documentation he had supporting his claim that hardwood was better than carpet for the indoor environment. Guess what he had none, I gave him copies from the CRI on studies done by them. The only thing that came from my visit was that he did remove the better for the environment from his radio show. I also sent a letter to the radio station covering my conversation with the lawyer. Never heard from them. At least I got him to stop broadcasting about something he knew nothing about

That'll show him Don! Way to go!
