Burglary in Florida, definately not about my Mex; ;-)

Okay, okay, I know this happened in 1993, but I think it's still hilarious.

BURGLARY IN FLORIDA (You just can't make this stuff up!!)
When southern Florida resident Nathan Radlich's house was burglarized recently, thieves ignored his wide screen plasma TV, his VCR, and even left his Rolex watch. What they did take, however, was 'a generic white cardboard box filled with a grayish-white powder.' (That's the way the police report described it.)

A spokesman for the Fort Lauderdale police said, 'that it looked similar to high grade cocaine and they'd probably thought they'd hit the big time.' Later, Nathan stood in front of numerous TV cameras and pleaded with the burglars: 'Please return the cremated remains of my sister, Gertrude. She died three years ago.'
The next morning, the bullet-riddled corpse of a local drug dealer known as Hoochie Pevens was found on Nathan's doorstep. The cardboard box was there too; about half of Gertrude's ashes remained.

Scotch taped to the box was this note which said: ,Hoochie sold us the bogus blow, so we wasted Hoochie. Sorry we snorted your sister. No hard feelings. Have a nice day.

And you thought California was the land of fruits and nuts

Notice that this was a story from "South Florida". That typically refers to Miami. Miami is like another universe altogether. I lived there for a couple of years as a teenager. I hated it! And that was 30 years ago. My youngest brother and his family still live there. But I definitely wouldn't want to live there personally.

St Petersburg on the other hand is a relaxed, relatively low-key place to live. Warm white sandy beaches and easy-going people. It's not as beautiful as your Cairns and Port Douglas, but it's not bad. Wishin I was Down Under happy.gif

"White sandy beaches"

See something else they can steal and mistakenly snort there too.  There will be 750 U-Hual vans moving north later today.

Funny story.

I've lived in Clearwater Beach, Winter Park(orlando), and all over South Florida...now live in the DC area. I kinda agree to what Rick said, but i don't hate it, well i just had to learn how to deal with it - that i do agree Rick.

To quote a line from an old song I like about this area -
Lets go cruise the Western coast of Florida
Sure it might bore ya, but there aint no stoned out hippies mauling you.

Now for something unrelated
A fellow contractor from Ohio called me Monday AM to share with me a TRUE story that happened in his company. He thought hed heard everything he was wrong.
One of his guys that fancies himself as a Professional Wrestler called in sick to work.
Well, not really sick per say but he was calling from the emergency room.
It seems Sunday night after waking up after a match; he went to blow his nose. As he blew his nose one of his eyeballs popped out of his head.
He couldnt work that night.
