I grabbed a bottle of encap releasit off my shelf to go do a job tonight. I thought I was grabbing encap-Hydrox but it was Encap basic. (rushing)


I couldn't go back to get the right thing so I used BASIC. I added it to my half of bottle of spotter (50/50 punch) to fill the bottle. Pre-spotted hands & knees and rag. I used 20oz./per gallon to clean with CIMEX/FIBER PLUS MAX. I made 3gallon rtu and only used 2 gallons on 800s.f. of cut pile.

I used the left over in my O.P. machine and pad capped after cimexing using HOS'S cotton/synthetic bonnets.

ENCAP BASIC has a very pleasant baby powder type scent and it had the whole hallway smelling good. Carpet looked really good.

QUESTION FOR RICK: 20oz of basic per gallon = 4oz. DS per gallon. TRUE or FALSE?

Glad to hear that you like Encap-Basic. It's a great product.
Even though it's less expensive - it still is a rock solid performer.

To answer your question...

FALSE. Encap-Basic is diluted at 8 - 10 oz per gallon. And it works very well at 8 oz per gallon.

Since ENCAP-CLEAN IS 8OZ./GAL. and DS is 4oz./gal, I actully doubled-up on the basic 20oz./gal to match the concentrated strength of DS. At least thats what I thought I was doing in my rabbit mind.

I'm really excited about encap basic cause it is very economical and i'm now confident it will get the job done on my monthly maintenace account.
