Port advice

Hey Rick...and of course anyone who wants to throw in .02...

I own a 4 year old Mytee Porty. No bells or whistles. 2/2 stage vacs, 100 psi pump...no heat. One chord. herein lay the issue...

I let some foam blow through years back...sigh.

so one motor began to complain a bout the work load. whined very loud...popped circuits (15 amps) so I replaced with a new, domel, 2 stage vac. runs like a rapped ape now. Nice and smooth....almost silent. suck a golf ball through a garden hose too. I got a hicky on my hand.

The other motor 'seems' fine but it still pops 15 amp breakers but not 20 amp.

I have some questions iffin ya don't mind;
Rick, your website shows a simialr porty 100 psi 2/2 stage not heat, one chord. Do you think it will pop 15 amp breakers?

I am thinking about 1 or 2 things. First, replace the other vac with a 3 stage and split the wires....make it a two chord machine. Run one chord with the 3 stage and pump (seperate switches) and the other chord for the 2 stage vac.

Or....do nothing and always hunt for 20 amp circuits...and buy a new machine.

I'd sure like some input from the gurus here before I jump. Can't un-ring a bell ya know.

Replace the 2 stage vac and get it back to it's original design. that would be the most cost effective way to handle. Don't try to re-engineer the machine.

I would tend to agree Phil.

But if you want to get technical go to Mikey's Board and talk to Greenie (of Green Glides) and John Labrarera (of Mytee) about it.

Phil,

I have an Olympus M200H with 2 2 stages and a heater.  I can pop breakers quite easily.  Many porties will require at least one 20 amp circuit.  Mine needs a 20 and a 15.

Greenie and John at Mikey's Board can answer your question specifically and discuss options with you as well.
