Electrostatic Extraction??

Anybody ever heard of this method? I copied & pasted from a Canadian Website:
http://www.venturecarpets.com/carpets-care.aspx

Electrostatic Extraction Method
Another modification of the spin bonnet method, the electrostatic extraction method also begins by pile lifting the carpet to remove deeply embedded dirt while the carpet is still dry. A specially formulated cleaner which attaches itself to the dirt, is then misted directly onto the carpet. A soft nylon pad is dampened in an electrolyte solution and is placed onto a rotating cleaning disc. As the machine rotates the pad over the carpet fibre, the solutions attract dirt from the carpet and onto the soft pad.

Advantages:

À good on both stains and heavily embedded soil
À quick way to deep clean and maintain traffic areas
À short drying time
À no soil attracting residues

Disadvantages:

¿ heavily soiled carpets may also require hot water extraction

Sounds Like..........................Ionic and Anionic

Paul Lucas still sells UltraDry that uses a buffer and a ionic spray and the pads are dipped in hot An-ionic solution and the dirt is removed. It does work well. I would contact Paul (google ChemMax) in Michigan.

I think a company called Ultra Chem Labs makes electrostatic cleaning agents for carpet, I'm not sure if elctrostatic is the correct term, but they do use some form of electric charge to attract the soil.

I've used their hard surface cleaner and their floor sealers and finishes and they are very good... they are pricey, but worth it IMO.

That all being said, I would never switch from useing Releasit on commercial carpet, I learned a long time ago that when you find something that good... stick with it. Nothing cleans commercial carpet better and nothing has made my customers as happy.

In Canada we have a franchise called Roto Static, and they advertise or at least they did that their cleaning was based on a electrostatic principle.

James,

That looks like a cool marketing idea if it works.
