I have an opporunity to buy a vs1 von schrader machine to help in servicing some commercial sites that restrict rotary. I'm primary looking for a brush machine that will dispense liquid and save spraying time; will this fit the bill?

How well does it clean? Is it reliable? Or is it just a dinosaur that should not be touched?

Von Schrader may fill your needs on a commercial job. I have owned all the machines that they make and still utilize the Esprit Uph. machine (a lot overpriced at $3200) If you use VS chems in the VS1 you will not be happy. My suggestion to you is to use Releasit DS in it, that's all I use in my Esprit. It really does make a difference in the cleaning by using Releasit. VS1 has a single brush and dispenses the chems in front of the brush, brushes it in, and extracts the foam after it passes the brush, does a decent job, but a little slow for me, or you could use the VS12 with a 24" wide brush for faster time cleaning. The machines have been around since 1935 but are still being used by many today. Many do not know that Von Schrader and Racine Industries (mfg. of Host) are in the same bldg. in Racine Wisconsin and both machines are mfg. on the same assembly line. I wish you luck in whatever system you decide to use.

Thank you once again Rambo. I figured you would be one of the responders to this question based on your extensive knowledge. I do find them overpriced new but a fair price can negotiated when buying them used.
